from: Kyle Besser

Growing older doesn't mean what it used to years ago. With advanced medical treatments and innovative senior living situations, many senior citizens are living independently for many years after they retire.

Disaster can strike families when seniors get sick or their mental and physical condition deteriorates. This is a stressful time for everyone involved. The health and wellness of the senior involved is uppermost in everyone's mind, but it is difficult for family members to agree when decisions need to be made for the care of the senior.

Different family members will want to handle matters in different ways. The seniors involved will most likely try to retain as much of their independence as possible and will want to return to their home.

Fortunately for everyone involved, much of the time, short term senior housing might be the answer, and the seniors will be able to return to the independence they had before the crisis. For some, the situation is not as hopeful, and they will require long term senior housing solutions.

With all the tension and emotion during these situations, it is important to know all the facts about short term senior housing before any decisions are made. Usually the senior housing is hospitalized or assessed by a physician who recommends short term care. This is the starting point for finding information about temporary senior housing or short term senior housing. The hospital will be able to assist in making arrangements for short term care.

Tuition is too damn high

College students in California received another dreary report card on Wednesday. Unless the state boosts its funding support for the public university system, warned school administrators, another 6 percent tuition hike could be on the way as soon as next year.
